Packing! : Top 5 packing tips

So if you saw my last post (My Paris Trip 2013) you will know that I am going to Paris in 3 days and I thought I would share my experience with packing (I make it sound like such an endeavor) and tips on what to pack.

So my tips are just for one person and I guess women/females as men might not care *quite* as much about toiletries and beauty stuff. So here are my top 5 tips for packing

So my first tip is:
1. Dress to your climate:
This is an obvious one but I still think its important to include, like I'm going to Paris not Turkey I know its not going to be sweltering hot, I went to Paris around this time two years ago and it was quite warm, however my guess is that its going to be just a bit warmer than England right now, but even so I am dressing the same way I do here, if your unsure about the climate in the place that your going look at the past couple of weeks weather there and estimate from that, but if it is variable just go for some options that you could wear in any weather rather than taking loads of options as you need space for other stuff in your suitcase.

2. Travel Sizes:
You can buy mini sizes of a lot of products in places like Boots or Superdrug (or whatever drugstore/chemist/pharmacy you have near you) and its worth it because it takes up less space in your toiletries bag and if your traveling on a plane you have to worry about how much liquid your taking, something I don't have to worry about because we're traveling by coach.

3. Plan what you're packing:
Write a list of what your packing so that you don't end up over packing. Plan outfits for each day that your there even if you don't end up wearing them at least you don't have a suitcase full of pointless clothes that you won't wear and that are just randomly floating around your suitcase.

4. Dirty Clothes:
Some hotels provide laundry service however its probably expensive, so if you can't afford that then you can simply get a plastic bag and put all your dirty clothes in it then its all out of the way in your suitcase :)

5. Travel Adapters
Remember that if you are going to a different country than they probably won't have the same plugs as your country, for example here in England we have three pin plugs and in both America and France they have two pin plugs I don't know about any other countries by the way but you can look it up, also like American two pin plugs are a different thickness to French two pin plugs and yeah.

So I hope you found this post helpful and if you want to let me know your top 5 travel tips in the comments!
If you thought this was the end of the post well oh no it isn't I thought it would be interesting to tell you the outfits I am taking to Paris.

Day 1:

Black Leggings

My Paris Trip 2013

Herro! For today's blog post I am doing a little post on my trip to Paris which is coming up really soon (2nd April 2013) so only 3 days left (not including today as its nearly over haha).  I will be vlogging on my youtube channel which the details of this need to be ironed out. I'll let you know about that. Anyway lets get into the post.

So I have to get up at about 4.45 and be ready for 6 and since I'm traveling for 4 days I need to make sure I get up and get everything ready and make sure I have everything. Then I need to be ready at 6 and get there at 6.30 we then get the ferry to the mainland of England (I live on the isle of wight, which is a small island to the south of England) and then we drive till around lunchtime and get on the ferry from Dover to Calais at 3.30 france time so 2.30 England time. I should probably also mention that I am going with my school. then we get to the hotel I don't know when probably 1-2 hours after that and we are staying in a disneyland hotel, the dream castle hotel. I am staying in a room with my friend Poppy and my Best Friend Eloise, by the way I get the double bed all to myself while they get the bunk bed hehehe.

On Wednesday we are going to Dinseyland and we have fastpasses for the following rides:
*Indiana Jone and the temple of peril
* Space Mountain
* Big Thunder Mountain
*Peter Pan's Flight
*Star Tours
All of which I have gone on before when I went to Paris two years ago with the school (although it was a different school), I haven't been on peter pan's flight or star tours though unfortunately, I just didn't go on peter pan's flight for some reason and I hate rides like star tours, where you sit in a seat it moves and you watch the screen sort of thing.

On Thursday we are going to the Disney studios park and we have fastpasses for the following rides:
* Rock n' Roller Coaster starring aerosmith
* The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
* Flying Carpets over Agrabah
I haven't been on any of these rides even though I have been here as well, I really wimped out on the day I went to the studios park last time but I am determined this time, I got in line for rock n' roller coaster but I couldn't do it but now I definitely will, tower of terror I'm not sure about because average lifts make me feel a bit queasy let alone ones that plummet really quickly and I have never heard about flying carpets of Agrabah so I will have a go at that one.
After we go to Disney studios park we go into Paris for 'evening cultural delights' so I think that's dinner, a cruise down the river seine, a trip to a tower and shopping, we are unfortunately not able to go to the Eiffel tower but we are going to another Parisian tower who's name escapes me. Then we are going to La Vallee shopping village which is a little shopping village as the name suggests! :)

On Friday we travel back home and get back at approximately 9.00pm England time.

So I am beyond excited and I hope you enjoyed this post and I will inform you more about the vlogging business

My Skin + products

I really felt like writing a post about my skins and products that work on it. Before plunging into the depths (what?) of this post you should know that my skin is very strange...

So before I get into products I use etc you should get to know my skin, not that it's a person but you know. So I'm not pale, and I am far from dark skinned (sigh) I'm like a couple shades in maybe the second shade on your average foundation shade range but if its a case of light, medium and dark I will definitely fit in light. I'm not to sure if I'm warm or cool toned now I would say I am almost certainly warm toned because my skin tone is almost olive-y but not quite and has yellow undertones which obviously suggest warm toned and my veins are most obviously green to my eyes which I have read that means you are warm toned (if I remember correctly) but I did a test on the L'Oreal website to match me most closely with the shades in the true match shade range and it said I was cool toned so I'm quite confused but I am pretty sure I'm warm toned.

My skin type is also a confusing matter, one thing (bursts into song "you got that one thing") that I'm 100% sure of is that my eyelids are oily, crease eyeshadow no matter what and eyeshadow comes off quickly. But my skin itself is a bit sensitive, most of the time I'd say my skin varies from normal-combination sometimes oily but if I use the wrong product my skin will shrivel up like an old prune (do prunes shrivel up, well it sounds right to me) well no it doesn't shrivel up it just gets very very dehydrated, red and irritated. So yeah. Acne wise my skin is really good considering I have combination-oily skin (normally) and I only get a couple of spots I have never had a full on break out the closest to one is right now which is a few spots here and there. My pores are quite big but not overly visible thankfully, I think my main problem with this kind of thing is blackheads I have loads of them on the tip of my nose which is a normal place for blackheads.

So that's enough about my skin now onto the products I use:

Moisturiser: Simple Light Moisturiser&Nivea Creme (for dry/dehydrated patches)
Exfoliant: Witch gentle exfoliating wash
Cleanser: Right now: Simple hydrating light moisturiser, holy grail: No7 gentle cleanser
Makeup Remover: Simple cleansing wipes&simple exfoliating wipes. I used to use a boots facial cleansing lotion that cleared pores etc but it activated dry patches and my sensitivity so no go.
Eye Makeup Remover: Garnier Eye Makeup remover with grape extract

Saturday's Post- Silly Me and an abundance of posts!

So here is Thursday's Post lets just jump right in!

Silly Me!- I am such a fail at everyday blogging but last week I was busy and then Monday I was lazy but on Tuesday I had my options evening :/ and I was busy yesterday clearing out my Grandad's flat and generally lazy But yeah I will try from now on to keep to the everyday.

An Abundance of posts:

So I will be doing several posts in one to make up for missing it so I need to do Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (All the days I have missed) But instead I am doing two reviews and the three posts below :)

Friday Posts:
Fragrance Friday: Exclamation Perfume
First Impression: Rimmel Apocolips Celestial

Sunday post:
January Favorites

So now I have decided that part one will be up today of 'an abundance of posts' and part 2 will be tomorrow: I will do 2 reviews today.

So lets get started.

Urban Decay Naked palette:
This is the most famous thing ever in the beauty blogger world, and I finally jumped on the band wagon and I got this for christmas and I must say I love it.

There are two pictures, one of the palette itself and then swatches. Although this palette is expensive its completely worth it, it contains all the warm toned shadows you will ever need in one convenient palette! Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar and Buck are very subtle and quite hard to make show up, but from half baked onward the shadows are extremely well pigmented and gorgeous don't get me wrong the other shades are lovely as well in fact I wear them more as I am a subtle eyeshadow kind of girl depending on the look I guess. The stars of the show for me are virgin, sin, sidecar, half baked, smog and toasted. This palette is definitely worth the hype and money so if your on the fence I would pick it up.

Soap and Glory Show Good face foundation:
I got this foundation as a gift from a friend and I have the lightest shade (the fairest of them all) there are 6 shades and I think it is a very good colour range, because there are neutral toned shades, warm toned shades and cool toned shades, however the shades don't go very dark or particularly pale so I guess thats a down side but I think that mostly this foundation shade range is quite good.

What the foundation claims:
*2-in-1 skin energizing foundation & primer
*gives a dewy, bright, flawless finish
*silky liquid texture
*longwear
*supernaturally flawless finish
*spf 15

I actually use this as my daily foundation but I have to disagree with some of its claims and I won't repurchase this for the following reasons:
its £11.
I like to change up my foundations.
But onto the up and down sides to the foundation, it is light coverage and had a dewy finish but wearable on oily skin like mine however it definitely doesn't have a primer in it at all or if it does it doesn't work on my skin I feel like without powder and/or primer it lasts about an hour and a half/two hours it does have a dewy finish, it doesn't do much in the brightening department, not a flawless finish because if your heavy handed then it can look a tad cakey.

Ok so that was mostly negative but now onto the positives, I love that this is lightweight for those days where you want something on but not much and I like to wear it at school, the dewy finish works on oily skin not making you look even more shiny so that's good, with powder it adds about an hour and I haven't tried it with a primer but I will keep using it until it runs out gladly, its lightweight and build-able up to a certain point, a little bit goes a long way.
